Meet our Team!

We work very closely as a team here at Sanctuary Fitness, so you'll probably meet and work with each of our team at some point while you're working out. The program you are given to train with remains exactly the same, and will change every 4-6 weeks - regardless of who the fitness coach is you are working out with. Your schedule is the most important factor to us in determining who we assign to work with you. Check out each team member's bio below. Neil WilliamsA woman fell into a hole and couldn't get out. A doctor walked by and the woman yelled up, "Can you help me? I can't get out!"
The doctor wrote a prescription, threw it down into the hole, and walked away.

A priest walked by, and the woman yelled up, "Help! I've fallen into a hole, and can't get out.
The priest wrote a prayer on a piece of paper, threw it down to the man, and walked on.

Then her coach, out running errands walks by and the woman calls out "Hey, coach! I've fallen into this hole and can't get out. Can you help me?"
The coach said, "Sure, glad to help" and jumped into the hole with her.
The woman said, "Are you crazy? Now we're both stuck in this hole!"
But her coach said, "No, see, I've been in a hole before, and I know how to get out."

Beyond the academics, and years of experience, Coach Williams knows what it means to struggle. He is not some ex-pro athlete who learned on the fields of victory.

He is a former Chess Club member who was picked last for everything physical the first 12 years of his life. Unless it was his birthday and he was the captain of the team.

In fact, when the kids would choose sides and get down to him and a couple of other kids they would not even bother picking any more. They would just say "you can have the rest," because his and the other kids combined ability were not a difference maker.

There are two things you can do with that kind of experience. Give up or get better. He chose the latter. Going from a 5'4" 97-pound freshman to a 170 lb 5'10" he realized he could make himself better. When he helped a former classmate fit back into her jeans he realized he could help other people get better.

Since then he has worked with everyone from high school to college athletes. He has worked with people with sciatica and fibromyalgia. He has even worked with cancer and coma survivors.

A lot of our clients ask where he gets his enthusiasm for knowledge and action in the health field. At heart he loves the idea of making himself better, but the true passion for it comes from seeing someone "get it," and be transformed (in both results and quality of life) forever.

Being active is a great gift, and he wants to help each and every person to optimize their ability to move, and enjoy life on their own terms, the way they want to, and do it pain free!



A graduate of the University Of the Pacific, with a degree in Sports Medicine, and Functional Movement Specialist, Neil Williams has been training clients for over 20 years. A Certified Strength Coach and Sports Nutritionist, Coach understands the importance setting, planning and reaching goals.

Katherine Williams
Katherine graduated from the University of California Davis with a degree in Nutrition Science. She is an ACE-certified Personal Trainer with several years experience in the fitness field. Her interest in fitness grew from her life-long interest in dance.
